- The Name “Hemkund” Means “Lake of Snow” : The sacred lake next to the shrine is called Hemkund, meaning “Snow Bowl”, because it is surrounded by seven snow-covered peaks known as Hemkund Parbat.

- No Motorable Road : You Must Trek :There is no direct road to Hemkund Sahib. Travelers must trek 6 km from Ghangaria, making the journey a mix of adventure and devotion.
- The Lake Freezes Completely for 6–7 Months : Due to extremely cold temperatures, Hemkund Lake stays frozen nearly half the year, and the Gurudwara opens only from May/June to October.
- Brahma Kamal Blooms Here : The region around Hemkund Sahib is home to the rare and sacred Brahma Kamal, the state flower of Uttarakhand, which blooms only at high altitudes.

DAY 0 – Delhi to Govindghat : Geather at pickup point (Janak Puri west metro station) @ 6pm after setup your luggages departure for Govindghat dinner en route (self Paid) overnight journey.
DAY 1 – Arrival in Govindghat : late eveining reached in Govindghat Check-in at hotel or guesthouseand freshenup, dinner and take overnight sleep.
DAY 2 – Govindghat to Ghangaria : Early morning wakeup breakfast and depart for Ghangaria Start trek to Ghangaria Arrival in Ghangaria Check-in at hotel or guesthouse dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3 – Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and Return : Next morning start treking to Shri Hemkund Sahib take devine darshan of Hemkund Sahib gurudwara and the devine kund and Return to Ghangaria Trek back to Govindghat dinner and overnight sleep in hotel.
DAY 4 – Back to Delhi : Next morning pack your bags and drive back to the Delhi and lunch and dinner en route (self paid) a full day and overnight journey to Delhi.
